It’s all go here at Lightside Financial Planning as we approach the second half of the financial year – where has 2021 gone?!
We’ve never been busier helping people just like you, providing bespoke, personalised financial plans to help you achieve your goals in life.
Expanding our range of skills with courses and qualifications
Of course, no matter how busy we are, we’ve still been working hard to continue improving the service we offer you.
As part of our commitment to offering you continued high levels of advice and service, you’ll be pleased to hear that we’re undertaking various training programmes to further our knowledge and expertise of our profession.
Working with Standards International
Firstly, the team has been working towards certification from Standards International, the hallmark of professionalism and operational excellence in financial services.
The team is now a quarter of the way through the “WOWW! by Design Development Programme”, a two-year course hosted by Standards International founder and director, Michelle Hoskin.
This unique business development course helps businesses to transform and expand their services, culminating in an assessment for the BS 8577 standard.
BS 8577 is the only British standard for financial planning and advice businesses, providing a framework of excellence for our business.
Not only will this help to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Lightside as a business, but it’s also helping to galvanise and rejuvenate the team, adding an extra quiver to our financial planning bow.
As part of the course, our advisers will also take on the ISO 22222 in January. ISO 22222 is the only international standard for providing personal financial planning, a standard of excellence that further demonstrates how our profession and expertise adds value to you.
Financial coaching course
Later this month, Sean is due to start a financial coaching course with Catherine Morgan, a course dedicated to better understanding individuals’ relationship with their money.
This will serve to enhance the offering we have at Lightside, helping us to refine our down-to-earth, judgement-free way of providing accessible financial planning.
Our team is growing
Alongside our continued professional development, the team at Lightside has grown considerably this year.
Firstly, we welcomed our new practice manager, Danielle, in August. Danielle is an experienced office manager with 18 years’ experience working within the financial services industry. Her main focus is ensuring the office runs as smoothly as possible, as well as overseeing the admin department.
Danielle will be helping to take some of the administrative pressure off our advisers so they can focus on helping to add value to your life.
This month, we also welcomed Gary as our newest adviser. Gary joins us with 16 years’ experience working in both banking and financial services. Having joined us from a large corporate organisation, he has a breadth of knowledge and experience dealing with clients at different stages in life.
Gary is passionate about really getting to know his clients and finding out what is important to them, helping them with their financial plans for the future. His expertise will help us to expand our offering even further.
In October, our new paraplanner Rachel will come on board. Rachel has been working as a paraplanner for the past six years, having started her career as an adviser support executive for a firm in Preston. Rachel’s skills will be indispensable to our team.
Finally, Phillip will join us as our new operations manager in November. Phillip comes to us with a wealth of experience in management, and will be instrumental in streamlining the way our business functions.
